The Great Palia Charity Hunt was founded June 2024 by Amanda Lay, Lindsay Lauer, and Cathy Mitchell, with the intent of raising money for various charities throughout the year by utilizing the popular free-to-play game Palia. With a Twitch community built up around the game already, the three founders set out to bring other communities and streamers into a fun filled competition that would benefit It Gets Better, the first charity The Great Palia Charity Hunt worked with.

Throughout the year they continued to work with Tiltify and charities listed on there, streamers and their communities, and have continued that into 2026.
